Since the results of testa on simple mixtures of relatively pure hydrocarbons normally lead to a more rapid understanding of the relative contribution of different types of components, a series of parallel tests are being carried out on solutions of benzopyrene in blended media, including a standard accelerator such as n-dodecane, together with cycloparaffins of high molecular weight (from white mineral oils), on the one hand, or with more volatile hydrocarbons of relatively low molecular weight, on the other, fhe results are shown in Table 2 and in Figure 1.
