ABD00002678 Georgia GuiF Corporation & Affiliates To Brandon Nadler From Bill Caldwell Date March 23, 2003 Subject Vinyl Control Room Halon System The Halon fire suppression system that services the Vinyl control room is in need of major service and repair work During their other inspection work I had Webb-Murray inspect the system and provide us a proposal to perform all necessary testing and other work required to put that system back into the original and serviceable condition The cost to perform this is considerable as can be seen by in the attached quote There is some lea-way in the final cost One possibility would be to repair and charge only three cylinders instead of six If we do repair the system that would be my recommendation I see no benefit to having three spare charged cylinders Still, the cost is going to be in the range of $40,000 David Cater of Webb-Murray also told me there were some other considerations that could affect the total price one way or the other Such as the amount of clean halon recovered from our cylinders and whether or not the heads can be repaired At present we are relying on a system that is need of service and may or may not provide adequate protection in a fire event We will at some point need to make a decision regarding the fire protection system in that building Bill Caldwell
