CHAPTER 3 THE INHALATION OF PARTICULATE LEAD BY HEALTHY HUMAN SUBJECTS The experiments outlined in this chapter were performed to determine the maximum concentration of atmospheric respirable inorganic lead particles that can be inhaled continuously throughout a lifetime by healthy persons without there being a demonstrably progressive accumu lation of lead in their bodily tissues.
