February 12, ID62 Mr. Dan M. Guy Ethyl Corporation Research and Development Department Research Laboratories 1600 West Eight Mile Road Ferndale 20, Detroit Michigan Dear lun: I would like very much to get things ready for the further conference with Acira. Biggs on or about March 5th, but I'm afraid that is almost,, if not quite, impossible. The reason is that the report (which should have been ready long ago) of the final stage of the investigation on the West Coast is far from finished. Two things happened to delay it, the last item being the statistical work, without which a final report cannot be made. It will be several weeks, I fear, before this can be done. The data of the medical examinations was so slow in coming through, that our statistical group got bogged down with other work. It would be entirely possible to present the significant items of data. These are ready now for all practical purposes, and they fully confirm the conclusions of the "interim Report". If the Admiral and the others would accept a brief supplementary report of this type and agree that the report can come through later in its final form, I can, I believe, meet the dead line proposed, although I'd prefer to have an additional twe weeks at my disposal. Any date near the first of April (just before or just after) would suit me. I am sorry to have so delayed my reply to your letter, and even sorrier at seeming to be the cause of delaying the meeting. However, we have had some difficulties lately that have upset my schedule a bit, and there is no point in my leading you astray as to what 1 can do. X am somewhat behind in my work, and the break I had hoped for and expected has not come. Let me know your wishes - perhaps through a telephone call when you receive this letter, and I'll do my best to meet them. Sincerely yours, __________________ A2. Robert A. Kehoe, M. D.
