The first valid expression of this threshold, so far as I know* was given by Legg and Goadby in their book on lead poisoning and lead absorp tion* Their statement is to the effect that if the atmosphere in a plant does not contain particulate lead in excess of* 5 milligrams per 10 cubic meters, cases of lead poisoning would not occur at all* or would be very mild.

Tetraethyl load in automobile and aeronautical fuels is burned to inorganic lead compounds, and it is not possible to find tetraethyl lead as such in the atmosphere cf urban centers in which traffic is dense.

The balance of the colors in these lines are less than .51 lead and are being reviewed for adjustment to the .061 lead content level.

The method is entirely satis factory when sufficient lead is extracted so that the con centration of lead in the solution to be polarized is at least of the order of 1 microgram of lead per ml.
