No* 28U - 1950 September 28 COMPANY OPENS TITANIUM EXHIBIT The American Museum of Natural History in New York City, in conjunction with the Company, has opened a titanium exhibit* Located in Morgan Hall of the museum, the exhibit features titania (rutile) geB, titanium metal and titanium dioxide pigments* One of the highlights of the showing is an 80=carat titania gem, along with a collection of cut and polished titania gems of all colors* A progressivelylighted flow sheet carries titanium from the ore to final products, with a follow up panel showing the uses of titanium dioxide in industry* Various types of titanium ores are displayed and also a panel of titania, sapphire and other prisms, which emphasizes the unusual light dispersion of titania crystals* Titanium metal is also shown in various forms, such as bar, sheet, rod and wire* A cutaway home depicts present and potential uses of titanium* The exhibit will remain in the museum for an indefinite time and is open to the public* CARROLL COMPLETES FORTY YEARS OF SERVICE Walter P* Carroll, a vice-president and director of the Company and manager of the Chicago Branch, has completed forty years of company service: Chicago Branch associates presented him with a television set on his anniversary* Mr* Carroll started his career with National Lead in 1910 as an assistant to the white lead sales manager of the Chicago Branch* Following service overseas in World War I, he entered the metal department of the branch in 1919 and seven years later was appointed metal sales manager* He was named assistant manager of the Chicago Branch in 1938 and manager in 19U0* Mr* Carroll became a Company director in 19U3, manager of the Company5 s metal department and a Company viewpresident in 19U9o ZANG HONORED ON FORTY-FIFTH ANNIVERSARY WITH COMPANY J* A* Zang, assistant manager of the pigment division of the Atlantic Branch, was honor guest at a luncheon given by his associates Monday in observance of his forty-fifth anniversary of Company service.
