Under these projects, AAATA will reconstruct the YTC which represents an essential part of the ongoing revitalization of downtown Ypsilanti and will be a cornerstone of both public safety and economic development. AAATA will also replace the oldest buses in their fleet. The modernization of their fleet will enable them to mitigate the strain an aging fleet places on maintenance operations and service reliability, while expanding safe and secure transit service for their community. AAATA has already taken great strides towards modernizing and stabilizing their service, and they are excited to take the next step in protecting their long-term service quality. The proposed projects will allow them to go even further in promoting the safe mobility of the public and fostering a stronger, more resilient community.
