Sanborn visited the Sheridan Production Company, LLC oil and gas facility located at the latitude 34.618317 N and longitude -96.607212 W near Drumright, Oklahoma on 11/28/2017 for an unannounced inspection. The inspection was conducted by authority of the Clean Water Act to determine compliance with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations. FACILITY DESCRIPTION This facility is known as Fittstown and is a waterflood. Section II - OBSERVATIONS This inspection was a follow up inspection from a previous spill. With a calibrated YSI 30 Pro Conductivity Meter I took Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) readings at the site and in the nearby tributary and Mill Creek. I measured TDS that ranged from 5,000 to 10,000 mg/L in several pools of fluids at the gravel dams prior to Mill Creek. At the entry area from the flow path to Mill Creek, TDS readings ranged from 5,000 to 10,000 mg/L. I observed that the soil at the discharge point had been hauled away. The remediation operations included spraying NitraCal on the surface of the areas the produced water had spilled. I observed trucks were keeping the drainage to the tributary and creek dry. Section III - AREAS OF CONCERN At the time of the inspection, the temporary berms and dams as a part of the remediation operations were not effective at preventing further downstream operations, as some temporary structures were wet during flushing operations. The remediation operations of the flow path and areas were some soil restoration remediation had occurred could erode in rainfall.
