MEMORANDUM TO:
ALEX KORE AL RUTKOW5KI
SUBJECT:
KAISER FABRICATING DIVISION CRANES CTL-23 5 34 - 8 and CTL-23540
We are releasing the subject order covering five (5) exact duplicate, 5 Ton capacity, 74'-10" span Torbeam cranes using 4DH hoists. There is a possibility that in processing this order, there will be another crane added, which we will assign 23539.
CTL-23540 covers a 10 Ton, 71'-2'* span Torbeam, using a 6EH hoist.
We have scheduled all six (6) cranes for March shipment out of our Los Angeles Plant, based on shipping part#out of Milwaukee the first week in March.
This order will pretty well parallel the Allis Chalmers Order CT-23424 - 36 inclusive, wherein the control will be based on two speed hoist and Primary Reactor bridge and trolley control, Bulletin 566. This control will be mounted on the trolley as specified.
In addition to the Primary Reactor control, these six (6) units must be furnished with our coupled (Lovejoy coupling) drives.
This order is very urgently required for two reasons. Pirst of all, part of the deal with Kaiser Fabricating Division in obtaining this order for six (6) cranes, was because of the urgency of shipment. Secondly, we have a Void in our Los Angeles Plant production schedule during this March period, which we are attempting to fill with this order. Thus, we ask that John Beatty, as he did in the Allis Chalmers job, advance all mechanical material making sure that the Reuland Drives are supplied with Klixon Overloads and that the Lovejoy coupled drives are appropriated for this order. We have already spoken to Harold Davis on this order with respect to the urgency.
Also, we ask that A1 Rutkowski and John Beatty get together with Gordy Gantz and make sure that this Primary Reactor bridge and trolley control, including reactors, modules, and so forth, be advanced on a stock order basis.
We are further asking that John Beatty make immediate arrangements to set up material advances so that Gib Davelaar can order out his material in time for this March shipment.
We wish to thank you all for your co-operation on this matter.
