You were very generous with your time, and I appreciate your interest in learning more about BP's role as America's top energy investor over the past decade. We covered a wide range of topics, but I wanted to stress BP's position on one issue in particular. Our company strongly opposes moving the point of obligation under EPA's Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) further downstream to blenders, marketers or retailers, because it would be tantamount to changing the rules in the middle of a game. We believe a better approach would be to reform the RFS and/or to reduce the program's renewable fuel blending requirements I understand that my team is engaging with yours on this subject, but I wanted you to know how strongly I feel about it As I emphasized during our meeting, BP is committed to safely and reliably providing the energy America needs while also protecting the environment With that in mind, we look forward to working with your team to help develop policies that are both economically efficient and environmentally effective.
