DEATHTHE OXFORD TIMES FROM May 9, 1969 ASBESTOS DISEASE Fortv years after working in an asbestos factory an Oxford woman became ill and died frnm an industrial disease known as asbestosis. it was stated at an Oxford inuuest on Wednesday. Mrs. Kathleen Doris Fox. aged 64, of 14 Ouslev Close. Marston. died on Aoril 23 at Sunnv-sidc. Hcadington. Her husband. Mr. Frederick Fox. a car assember. saul his wife had shown no signs, of the disease until her stomach started to swell. He said his wife had worked in an asbestos factory at Barking from 1923-2K. Her brother had died form a similar complaint. Dr. Richard Whitehead, consultant pathologist at the Radchflc Intirmars. said he found that Mrs. Fox's hodv was rich in asbestos bodies. He said that the cffects of this type of industrial disease from as long aeo as 40->0 years could still result in complications.
