Eric, My name is Peter Robertson. I work for ExxonMobil, but this isn't a work-related email. First, congratulations on being name Chief of Staff at EPA. I was Chief of Staff (and later Deputy Administrator) during the Clinton Administration. There is a significant feeling of geniality among former EPA political appointees of both parties. I am close friends with former Chiefs of Staff (more Republicans in that group than Democrats). I have frequently met with new Chiefs of Staff, or have gathered together several former Chiefs to meet with the new Chief, over several previous administrations. At those meetings we shared the accumulated wisdom we had about how to be successful in the job. I know you were Administrator Zeldin's Chief when he was in the House. That experience has no doubt given you skills you will need to manage this job successfully. But if you have any interest in meeting with a group of former Chiefs (or just with me), I would be happy to help make that happen. I know how busy you already must be, but I can certainly make any meeting fit your busy schedule. I unhesitatingly tell people that the best job(s) I ever had were the ones I had at EPA.
