Our plant has established sophisticated and effective programs in the areas of health, safety and environmental management, and we have an excellent record in each of these areas. Our plant is well maintained, inspected and operated by trained, experienced personnel. Certain of the materials used in our plant have been classified as "hazardous" by regulatory agencies, but all of them are carefuly controlled and monitored, and employees who work with these chemicals have received special training in howto handle them safely. Because of the strict controls and procedures we use in all our manufacturing processes, we believe that an incident similar to the one dramatized in the ABC docu-drama, "Acceptable Risks" is highly improbable. However, to ensure an appropriate response to any emergency situation, we have in place a formal program to continually evaluate and improve our existing safety systems and emergency procedures. This assessment includes: a study of materials present in the plant; our procedures for handling, processing and storing those materials; our ongoing employee training programs; and tested emergency response procedures. We want to be certain that we are operating our plant in a safe and responsible manner.
