In response to the main body of your letter, I should say that I am exceedingly grateful for it. I anticipate others, both on lead and a variety of-other topics, and I would hope that they will be as informative. I would hope also that we can distill from them an objective report on how the situation truly stands in a number of areas that have been rendered several times as complex as they really are, which in most cases is complex enough to begin with. You may recall the comic strip character, George Bungle, who was forever running through the basement in the dark and strangling himself on the clothes line.
