The minutes o f a previous meeting between three members of the AIA/nA Technical C oacittee and OSHA are also attached and establish the reason fo r th e February oth meeting. The need to write d rafts of work practices as quickly as possible v&s determined to be our most isportaot assignment. OSHA intends to use work..' practices as a p rac tic al method, for th e ir inspectors to determine compliance, during plant inspections. I f Industry doesn't do the jo b , OSHA w ill have i t done by outside sources. I t was agreed th a t the work practices could best be done by Individuals ' from the various industries which w ill be affected. Assignments were made . on th is .b a s is as indicated in Ed Fenner's minutes. We are expected to provide assistance in the areas of asbestos-cement pipe and. vinyl asbestos floor t i l e . The unions are pushing to have the exams kept confidential eon for the doctor to only advise Management whether or not the employee can continue working. AIA w ill take whatever stand the . member companies want based on the responses. 2.
