A. Paulson, Superintendent, Mr, Paulcon and I talked to Bill Miller, Conatruction Superintendent for Tcllepsen, the Contractor, ao well as with Mr, Wilson and Barry Engineering, the other two Contractors. It wag agreed that the work for the next several weeks would continue to be very dangerous. . It was, therefore, agreed that CPL should kill the 69 KV every morning at 7 o*clock and energize every afternoon at 5*30, every day in the week except Sunday, until further notice. This is to avoid possible mistakes in knowing when the line is dead and when it is not dead. It is felt that the procedure that v;e have used in the past two months is unsafe since it involved personnel from the refinery calling our dis patcher and requesting the 69 KV service to be removed or restored at any time, whether there is good weather or bad \fcather, and this has opened the way for a very pos sible error in which men might think the line is dead when it is not. The ladder came too close to our 69,000 volt power line owned by Central Power and Light Company. Two men were taken to the emer gency ward of Memorial Medical Center for treatment of electrical burns. The men were apparently not seriously hurt but were kept in the hospital over night. Their names were as follows: Alberto Rivera Gulf Coast Fabricators Herman McFatridge Tellepsen Petro-Chem Constructors All contractors were given written notice at the start of the work and told that we could switch over on our emergency power line and kill this line at their request.
