The contractor's draft report was reviewed by Conoco and Vista. Due to numerous technical deficiencies in the draft report, it is difficult to specify the exact findings/"" However, it is obvious there is chlorinated hydrocarbon contamination of the groundwater at several locations under the complex. During the next phase of the study more wells will be installed to define the extent and rate of movement of the contamination in the groundwater. 1 V>- ^ 0 0*' .U* .0 As a result of the preliminary study results the State of Louisiana has requested that samples of waterwells in the residential area adjacent to the complex be taken and analyzed for chlorinated hydrocarbons. Samples taken and analyzed to date have shown no contamination. Conoco will continue to bear a remedial costs for this activity.
