Blade tips projecting through slots in the back plate and ring are bent toward the blade curvature to securely lock the back plate and ring between the bent tip and the shoulder at each end of the blade. Tips may be spot welded for greater strength .when required for special, se vere applications. Embossed back plate assures rigid sup port for blades and hub. Steel hubs are attached to the serrated center hole in the back plate by curling the hub material on to the back plate. The hub material is then pressed into the serration in the back plate to key the hub to the wheel to prevent loosening. Hubs can be mounted either inside or outside of the wheel.
