Baumgartner Medical Department State Office Bldg Columbus 15 Ohio Gentlemen This claim has been referred to the Division of Safety and Hygiene for the purpose of securing dust counts It so states in this claim that this claimant worked on construction jobs as an insulator and no dust count can be made because all jobs that he worked on have been completed We can therefore only estimate what exposure this . man would have to insulating material Materials similar to the type that this man worked with have been found to be made of practically all asbestos fibers and it is quite possible that this claimant may have on some occasions be re- to saw various lengths of this material either with a hand saw quired and would therefore be exposed or some other type of cutting machine to asbestos dust He mentions in his claimant that he worked with a product which was made of glass and which was very dusty and harmful All of the insulating material of this tyne contains rockwool which is fiber and does not contain free silica nor asbestos It is the a glass exposed to asbestos dust during writer's belief that this claimant was would be impossible his course of employment but that the concentrations to ascertain at the present time If the Medical Department deems it necessary we will obtain of this material and take a dust count while it is being sawed s Iombeelieve one can safely estimate that the concentration of dust which would be generated at this type of operation would be within a range of from 5 to 10 M.
