Matelskys I shall toe pleased to discuss the details of the problem referred to in your letter of August 24th with Dr. Kline and yourself, and the date suggested will be satisfactory if it is the one most convenient for the two of you. It happens to be a day on which (in the morning) I have a fairly demanding teaching engagement, and I would prefer either the day before or the day after - i.e., September 13th or 15th. If, on the other hand, you would find it convenient to see me in the afternoon of the 14th, rather than in the forenoon, it would suit me perfectly. It would probably save some time if you were to send me in advance such information as is available in relation to the potential lead hazard. I leave this to you, however, with the suggestion that it is the quantitative aspect of this situation which would appear to ne to be important. For example, how much lead is available to be ingested, and how does an individual (or child) get at this to ingest it? I believe I can provide you with satisfactory evidence as to the maximum proportion that would be absorbed, and perhaps we can visualize the order of magnitude of the problem on the background of knowledge now available.
