I am sending you herewith the additional results on samples of hlood and urine recently received from you. The results on the blood indicate that there has been some slight ex* posure to lead While those on the urine are within normal limits, and therefore, it is quite clear that the lead exposure of these men have not been of any great signifi cance. I talnk we can conclude from the combination of these results With those submitted previously that these men are not absorbing hazardous quantities of lead in the course of their work. Let me remind you again that I would like to have the com plete story of the nature of the work of these men together with the available clinical findings on them. In answer to your question, we have made a series of obser vations on a group of men at the Bridgeport Plant of Reming ton Arms Company, Incorporated, who were working with lead styphnate, but we have not had occasion to study any men who have been handling lead axlde. Accordingly, I should be very much interested in knowing more of the nature of the work and the character of the exposure, as well as the character of the safeguards that are taken to prevent hazar dous lead absorption, it would appear that the potential hazards are not very great, or that the precautions taken are very effective. For the sake of our convenience, I am sending you herewith a bill to cover the cost of the analyses herewith reported.r Very truly yours.
