RESULTS
Dusting and Flaking Test of C* fco Bluc-Snitii.
A submitted sample of i6M by 4* piaster board coated on one side with a \ inch coating of Csfco Blaze-Shield applied ac a density of H.9 lbs. per cubic foot, was mounted on a metal duct support as shown in Figure l. A filter was placed at the blower end and collecting filter placed over the open end. The blower was scarced and allowed to run for a 1 hour shakedown to remove dust and flakes loosened by handling. At this time, impinging velocity and issuing velocity were checked with an anemometer.
Impinging Velocity : 800 ft. per ain.
Issuing Velocity
: 270 ft. per oin.
After the shakedown, the collector filter vs removed, cleaned, weighed and replaced. The blower was started and allowed to run for 24 hours. At the end of this period the collector filter was removed and weighed again. The increase in weight was 20 milligrams.
A control blank was then run by replacing the Cafco treated wall board with a plain wall board and going through the entire procedure again. There was no veighable blank.
At an air impinging velocity of 800 ft. per min. and issuing velocity of 270 ft. per min., the dust and flake collected at the issuing collector filter is calculated to be 1.2 grams per 1000 board ft. per 24 hours.
