SUBJECT Plans for Dissemination of the Results of the Particulate Lead Studies
ADDRESS Detroit
ADDRESS Detroit
DATE
February lit, 1956
Our understanding of the points covered during the meeting with Dr. Kehoe on February lU, 1956 is as follows?
1. Preparation of a paper covering the studies of particulate lead compounds in exhaust gas will begin immediately. This paper will be aimed for presentation before the Petroleum Division of the American Chemical Society at the September, 1956, meeting in Atlantic City (deadline for submission; May 25, 1956). It will be essentially an abridged version of the draft prepared by Messrs. Hirschler and Gilbert, and the data will be supplemented by a complete file with the American Documentation Institute. Submission of the paper will be held up pending receipt of the data from the initial phase of the Midwest study, which will hopefully show that TEL and scavengers play no part in the formation of smog. Ultimately this paper will be submitted for publication in Industrial and Engineering Chemistry.
2. A second version of the report, essentially identical with the draft already prepared, will be readied for distribution to customer com panies as a supplement to oral presentations at Joint Technical Conferences. Dissemination in this way will also be held up pending receipt of the initial data from Midwest.
3. No essential changes in the scope of subject matter covered or in the interpretation of data will be required unless suggested by Dr. Kehoe following his study of the draft report. We will send copies to Dr. Kehoe of all subsequent versions of the report for his comments.
