Avenue Cincinnati, Ohio My dear Bob: Dr. Sayers dropped in the office today and stated that the Public Health Service has gotten several letters from men claiming to have been poisoned by tetraethyllead at the Baton Rouge plant and also one letter from a doctor. He said that he had not ansnared any of the letters but had come in to see us to find out what it was all about. Mr. Schaefer and I talked to him at some length and, apparently, these letters relate to the various court cases which have either come up or^about to come.up. We discussed the situation -with him and let him read the decision in the Sanders case, in which he appeared to be much interest ed. I told him that we would be glad to have him go through the plant if he happened to be in the neighborhood of Baton Rouge and he said he would like very much to do so. I believe that his questions were merely relating to the. problem as to whether or not the manufacturing regulations of the Surgeon General's office were proving to be inadequate. I told him that I would write to you and ask you to write to him on the matter said to drop in to see him in Washington if and when you happen to be around there.
