(1) Pipe Line Sludge from Araste Pile Boot, Pennsylvania 1.^ lead (2) Fresh Sludge Sample Boot, Pennsylvania 1.5^o lead (3) Pipe Line Sludge from V/aste Pile Kontello, Pennsylvania 0.3*# lead (4-) Fresh Sludge from Sediment Trap Montello, Pennsylvania lead ^ The amounts of organic lead in all of the samples were lesHT than 0.00235&* The amounts of lead in all of these samples were less than amounts found in many samples of sludge and scale, but until vie have more information on the behavior of small percentages of lead in mixture with iron rust, I would recommend that precautions similar to those in cleaning tanks be taken when the sludge traps are cleaned.
