ffc:re are and will be at least eight branches off this duct* sons of which will roquire additional air beyond the present flov, because wo found leaks in the system and fall-out in the r.ain duet. Progross is not far enough along yet to determine new duct sizes and air requirements* but these are predictions.
The largest duct in the present Whcelabrator system is 21" diameter. The now one is likely to be about 30". The dust collector anticipated will be at least as large as the one now heir-* installed on the Dock Dryer System. How the caught dust \dll bo disposed of has not yet been discussed* but likely it will '.ran into an ronerally air-tight closure from which it can bo neriodicully taken away by payloador. The fan* it is hoped, will ho tKo snno as now used on the Rock Dryer System with a speed char, re to suit conditions.
1 discussed with Bill Hammer the possibility of locating
the collector at the Vest end of the Joint Cement 3ulldin.g in such
a
ns to not obstruct the powor pole nor the hose house and
Tj-jw-.-:n-?l door near the N'orth c o m e r . The collector likely will
bo the same tyoe and uso the same size bags as used in the Rock
Dryer System, but possibly have a greater cloth area. Everything
now points in that direction.
One of the operators pointed out that a du3t condition now prevails at the baling press where empty bags are baled* and also at tho scries of bins next to the wail. Even tho no pctual hoods are orovided at these points* wisdom seems to indicate mak ing provision for future additions. The number of branches thero could eventually bo on this new system kind of makes mo shudder as I try to observe the practice of not allowing any core than six C S branched on any one system.
I will have to assume that unless you contact John or Bill Innndiatoly following receipt of this letter* so thoy can notify me, you will bo in agreement that I am proceeding in a way satisfactory to your company. Unions I hear some word I will be proceeding as doscribod* eventually reaching a point whore John can quote you* and your company can make application for approval of the deai.gn.
1 regret that you cannot be on the spot as these things arise* and to walk thru some of tho areas which are ankle-deep in dust from loaka.ges here and there* but Bill has boon helpful and can help you picturo the situation.
With kindest regards* Copy tot John Pussoll Pill ramner
