Dear Manfred* Just a note to indicate that there will he some further delay in the submission of a proposal for experimental work on lead. Two factors have entered into my delay: (1) I have not had time to even consider the details, having had my nose firmly to the grindstone of other immediately urgent matters and dead lines, (2) Having thought about the matters at odd intervals, I have been unable to see how the work can be initiated soon, I hope to find a way, but I don*t want to make a proposal and start a lot of wheels turning, only to find that space and time will not permit me to carry the work through with reasonable promptness, I am off on a vacation Saturday morning and shall not return to Cincinnati until September 2nd, By that time the air may have cleared a bit, and I may have renewed ray energies to the point of being able to overcome the present obstacles.
