I 7/ould not like to see the Association go to a rro-t deal of expense to hold an independent meeting unless our dues v:ere enough to provide a greater net for each year. In the past year our net assets increased approximat *iy $580.00, but:of this $266.00 was our share in the net profit of the 28th Annual heating at Rochester, which means that from other sources our net gain is only about $300.00 which would scarcely cover the expense of a national meeting. This year I understand that our share will be somewhere around $450.00. 2. Before breaking away I would suggest that we go to the A.A.I.F : 3. with our grievances, if any, and try to iron then out, as I believe they would be quite reasonable in going along with us on any logical complaints; if our main objection is the lack of time for papers, perhaps the whole affair could be stretched over one more day. 3. If we want more time for papers I would like to ask first whether we did not have difficulty enough in securing enough papers of good quality to fill the time allotted to us this year. It seemed to me that many of the papers consumed too much time presenting details, data, tables, etc., which were read to the audience and which can be better summarized with the details retained for publication later. On the whole, I favor going along with the Industrial Physicians and Surgeons again next year and this time doing our best to iron out any previously objec tionable features.
