Atlanta, Georgia 30326 Inspection Date: June 13, 2024 3601678617 LAT: 33.8461 LON: -84.3623 Inspection Type Clean Air Act (CAA) National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) - Asbestos Inspectors Pamela Storm Introduction An inspection pursuant to Section 114 of the CAA was conducted on June 13, 2024, at Tumi located at 3393 Peachtree Road, Northeast, in Atlanta, Georgia 30326 (the Facility). The unannounced inspection was conducted by Pamela Storm and Tony Spann who possess EPA inspector credentials to conduct CAA NESHAP asbestos inspections. Tumi is a retail store in Lenox Square Mall. The inspectors discovered that renovation had occurred at the Facility by obtaining a copy of Permit #BB-202402778 issued by the City of Atlanta on June 13, 2024. The permit was issued for the nonstructural interior demolition for improvement of the tenant space. The permit specifies Horizon Retail Construction, Inc. as the general contractor located at 9999 East Exploration Court in Sturtevant, Wisconsin 53177 and Corporate Property Investors, P.O. Box 6120 in Indianapolis, Indiana 46207 as the Facility owner. The renovation activity was not observed at the time of this inspection. The purpose of the inspection was to determine compliance with the CAA NESHAP Asbestos Standard and the regulations promulgated at 40 CFR Part 61, Subpart M, for the renovation activity conducted at the Facility. The EPA Region 4 CAA NESHAP asbestos program targets facilities for inspection located in the State of Georgia based on tips/complaints; permits issued on a local level; demolition and/or renovation/abatement notices sent to the State; and other relevant information concerning renovation/demolition activities at regulated facilities. This inspection was conducted based on the aforementioned permit for renovation activity at the Facility. Facility Information The Facility is a retail store in an indoor, commercial mall. The inspectors could not see inside the Facility. The boards on the outside of the store said, "Opening Spring 2024." EPA will contact the owners/operators to obtain more information about the renovation of the Facility. Conclusion EPA will discuss the renovation activity with the owners/operators to determine if the requirements of the Asbestos NESHAP were met when conducting the renovations.
