Mo C-8 found 12v iles dovnstrea. C-8 concentration trends on-site at well TV 27 difficult to analyte due to change in analytical technique. However, data do not indicate large increases in C-8 concentration since 1987, ( fro 2.0 to 5.9 ppb ). Off-site water saiples fro boie taps (i.e. fro the existing lubeck wellfield) indicate C-8 fro .7 to J.9 ppb, with the 3.9 ppb easured fro a sapie taken on 8/8/91. C-8 was detected in a new well in the new Lubeck wellfield (2.7 iles south-southwest of Washington Works), at 2.4 ppb on 8/23/91. Ho C-8 was found in nearby private water wells, however. o C-8 Test Develop*ent: Mike McClusky, See Attachient Key Point: CH2X Hill has been authorized to develop a C-8 detection analytical technique to 0.1 ppb. o Proposed k 'Revised* Saipling Plan: Terry Vandell, See Attachients 5 6 6. 1 Key Points: Onsite C-8 travel tiae fro the supernate poods to the Lubeck wellfield is approxiiated at^yrs.; off-site to the new Lubeck wellfield, the travel tie could range fro 49 to 117 years, strongly indicating that *1?* C-8 is even present in the new wellfield, that the transport echanis was not groundwater, but 'possibly' the Ohio River. Calculated \of C-8 in the Ohio River is aboutJ^ppfcr* o.% The purpose in conducting the proposed extensive C-8 saipling progra is to 'verify or disiiss' the presence of C-8 in the new Lubeck Wellfield, and to obtain sufficient river water quality data to address the question of whether the river serves as a transport echanis for C-8.
