Andrews of Pennsylvania Glass Sand Co. through Mr. Waters and discussed many problem^ including their work in producing damp sand. Its purpose is to provide glass companies with a dustless product. They are spending *50,000. on new eo.uipsent to produce it with moisture controlled. This suggested an ides, voiced to Mr. Andrews, that if a very small amount of silica 'gel, e.g., 1/2*, would cement the fines together, the material could be marketed dry and be dustless. Ever, simpler would be the addition of a small amount of sodium silicate to the material since both ions are compatible with the use in glass manufacture. . Wednesday morning went to Hew York with J.F. McMahon end Dr. Razlett. Visited Mr. S.H. Tialker, Industrial Relations Director for Vanadium Corp. and discussed matters with him for 10 minutes.'
