APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MINUTES i On motion made, seconded and unanimously carried, the minutes of the previous meeting held on March 14, 1990 were approved. AD HOC COMMITTEE It was reported that the Ad-Hoc Committee on Gasket Testing had met earlier during the week. At the meeting, it was decided that the FSA (Metallic Gasket Division) would not offer to help fund any testing. It was thought that such testing might encourage the API to test and approve non-asbestos gaskets. The committee could not reach a consensus and it was decided that the individual manufacturers would proceed to encourage testing and approval as they see fit. , i DIVISION GUIDELINES Current Division Guidelines for Membership were reviewed and discussed in view of the FSA's change to International Membership. A motion was made by Sam Thomas and seconded by Bill Grosse to set a minimum of $1,000,000 sales of metallic gaskets for new Members. The proposed new guidelines are as follows and will be voted on at the next meeting: l Metallic Gasket Division ! Membership in the Metallic Gasket Division shall be limited to: | J 1. Companies who manufacture static sealing devices comprised of metal or having metal as a primary constituent necessary to perform the sealing function; and 2. Companies who have sales of such manufactured products exceeding $1,000,000 per annum. I PROSPECTIVE DIVISION MEMBERS A discussion was held on how to contact possible prospective new Member companies for the Metallic Gasket Division, especially foreign companies. NEW BUSINESS Sam Thomas asked about the possibility of inviting someone from Navsea to talk about government inspection procedures and specifications. After a discussion, Chairman Steve Anthony appointed Sam Thomas, Bill Grosse and Mike Blake as a committee to look into the possibility of getting someone from Navsea to come to a future meeting.
