DuPont Washington Works, Washington, WV DearMr.Watkms: ' Pursuant to our April 16,2004 letter, sampling of residential water supplies in Ohio and West Virginia was initiated again in 2Q04 as required by the Consent Order (Order No. GWR-2001019). The quarterly residential sampling will run for four quarters; annual sampling will be conducted once. 1 total, 33 residential water supplies in Ohio and West Virginia were proposed for sampling. Eleven residences are located in Ohio and 22 are located in West Virginia (ten near the Washington Works facility/Local landfill, ten near Ae Dry Run Landfill and two near the Letart Landfill). Table 1 provides survey information available for the residential water supplies and Figure 1 shows the locations of the residences. During 3Q04, eight of the eleven residential water sources in Ohio were sampled. Permission to sample the remaining three residential water sources was granted, however, permission was granted too late for these water sources to be included in the 3Q04 sampling event. During the 4Q04 sampling event, all eleven residential wafer sources in Ohio will be sampled, m addition, nine of the 22 residential water sources in West Virginia were sampled during 3Q04. DuPont continues to work with West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection (WVDEP) in order to obtain permission from those residents where permission to sample has not yet been obtained. The 3Q04 residential sampling event was conducted between September 13 and September 23, 2004, and atotal of 17 water sources were sampled.
