Sample 1 - Old boiler room steam line Sample 2 - Old boiler room cold water line Sample 3 - Basement steam line We would like to suggest if you decide to remove insulation from these systems that it be done properly without risk of exposing anyone to this carcinogenic. I have enclosed guidelines set up by the E.P.A. and MYOSHA. If the proper precautions are taken the risk is minimized to the optimum. These are certain areas where insulation can be encapsulated and therefore not warrenting removal. Keep in mind encapsulation is only short term and will not alleviate the problem in the long run. The removal of asbestos is a costly and risky task, and should only be done on a time and material basis.
