The enclosed report of the examination of Mrwas delayed until my return to Cincinnati where the analytical report on Mr* Buford*s excreta was awaiting me.

There is nothing in Mr* WHHKKt recent history, results of physical examination, or analysis of excreta to Indicate lead Intoxication specifically* The history suggests a low grade intoxication of somesort and it is s^;impression that the Intoxication is bacterial rather than metallic.
In my opinion the gums which show evidence of .
an old purulent gingivitis, apparently healed, should be
further investigated# all other possible fool of .infection
considered and because of history of pleurisy and minor
Changes found on examination of the chest, a cheat plate

These results would not indicate any unusual amount of lead having been or being absorbed*
Although it was not admitted by Mr* Buford, it
was found that several years ago .he had on several occasions
been required to ''spike" gasoline in tank cars by carrying ,.
large amounts,.of'Ethyl Fluid In open buckets* This, of course,
constitutes potential severe exposure and it is difficult to
Imagine this being done without considerable actual exposure.
It is felt, however, that this type of exposure occurred too
far in the past to be of significance now, and the lead level
in the exorota confirms it,
