Hi Lisa. Ok, why don't you mention that issues and processes are different in other countries. And I will try to remember to ask the audience.
Many thanks. S

Hi Sally,
Thanks very much - this all sounds good.
However, I actually dropped the reference to other countries in my slides, because the issues and processes are different and I don't have the same sort of personal experience in those contexts. Perhaps it would make sense to ask the audience if their experience in other countries is similar to what I describe?
Best, Lisa

Hi Everyone,
Please come to the Plenary stage 15 minutes before we start.
Rules of conduct: our panel and audience interaction must be respectful at all levels. If comments stray from cordiality and respect, they will be cut off. I like and embrace feistiness but personally can not tolerates disrespect.
The slides from each of you look really good. I am trying to make sure that our individual talks and panel discussion are accessible to plenary attendees, especially non-English first speakers and/or attendees from outside the US and Canada.
In this light, I am asking for a little more context from Lisa and Nancy.
Lisa - can you please bring in any examples you have about the regulatory analysis process in other countries?

Nancy-- can you please put the TSCA process in a broader historical context: where is this statue? Passed recently? Processes you talk about: how different are they from 5 (my arbitrary number) years ago, how different are their interpretation, and how different are their execution?
My comments: I have modified them. I will talk through Terje's questions using my words. I will reiterate the inherent messiness of the processes because decision making is messy and a human enterprise.
INTROS: Teije has asked for introductions to be as brief as possible. I will provide name and affiliation. If you have one more factoid that you would like me to include, please send it.
QUESTIONS: We will be experimenting with the new meeting app. Attendees will be encouraged to send short, focused questions forward and the Secretariat (Lori Strong) will help to clump them together. We also will entertain questions from the mikes in the room.
*** Thank you very much for participating in this Plenary. It is topically a little outside of our comfort zone, but is a discussion worth starting.
Warmly, Sally

Attached are some revised slides--shortened a bit so we can chat more. Please let me know if you also need me to bring these on a thumb drive.

Hi. Frederic created this version for me making it easier to print. I believe it is essentially the same as his original.
