The Plant was divid ed into eleven groups for competitive purposes. Pot Rooms D Shift Six out of the eleven groups worked the entire quarter without sustaining a medical injury and were the winners of the Quarterly Safety Incentive Award -- a green and gold "Safety First" cap. The 362 employees in the six groups are to be con gratulated for achieving this accomplishment. Let's keep the trend going for an ex cellent track record in the future Quarterly Safety In centive Award Programs. Pot Rooms D Shift Quarterly Safety Awards. . . San Pat Folks Scholarship Honored Class of '52 Joe Flores (Maint.) recently took this 8 point buck on the Judio Ranch in Zapata County. The buck, Joe's first in three years, dressed at 110 pounds. Dennis Hahn (Millwright) and his wife Melissa were spotlighted recently by the Cor pus Christi Caller. They had several recipes listed in the "What's Cooking" column. Both Hahns have busy sched ules. Dennis studies real estate at Del Mar and Melissa studies art, so they share the cooking duties. Below is one of their favorite recipes -- Hobo Dinner. Hobo Dinner 2 pounds hamburger meat 1 onion, sliced . I bell pepper or jalapenos sliced 1 package longhorn cheese 4 large potatoes 4 large carrots Make 8 hamburger patties. Ar range sliced bell peppers or jalapenos on 4 of the patties. Place onion slices over peppers, then top each with a large slice of the cheese. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and place remaining 4 patties on top. Seal by pinching edges of patties together. Season with salt and pepper. Place in a large foil-covered baking sheet. Slice potatoes and carrots and ar range around meat patties. Cover with foil and bake at 300 to 350 degrees F. for 45 minutes to an hour. Linda Chambers, Human Resource Development, and Purchasing Agent Jack Norris' daughter, Tricia recently achieved scholastic honors. Linda made the Deans list at Del Mar where she is working toward a B.S. degree. Tricia made the Deans Honor Role at UT Austin where she is majoring in Education. Congratulations! Manuel Canales (Cast House) was honored upon his retirement after 28 years of service. Manuel, pictured above with Gen. Foreman Bob Rupke. was the guest of honor at a Bar B Que held at the Steelworkers Hall. Mr. Joe Trevino, San Patricio Laboratory Analyst, competed in a racquetball com petition sponsored by Miller Lite Beer and held at the Corpus Christi Racquetball Club on December 5-7, 1980. He com peted in the C division of the men's singles match and played 5 matches in which he won 4 for a 2nd place trophy. He practices about 8 hours every week.
