Old Business The HCN emergency lights are a real problem during the day. Robert Kozlek has talked with HCN personnel who suggest a stop light up from the 19T10 HCN tanks. Notification of material handlers when testing HCN alarms needs to be conducted. Kozlek and Riddle will provide a recommendation by next HSC meeting. More concern was voiced over proper use of the fire and entry permit. The newly revised procedure needs to be properly communicated as to its intent in this area. New Business During the SM shutdown, benzene fumes were coming out of the sewer. New hookup of trucks with counter balance in the East Plant was discussed. Engineering has the drawings, but it is waiting to be approved. Eighteen months have gone by, but too much cost time has occurred without an answer. Mark Riddle will follow up on this. A suggestion on placement of welding machines was made. It would be better to try and place welding machines away from manufacturing equipment and piperacks, if possible. Longer lines on the welding machines would help accompli Sii this. Coveralls marked "asbestos" are mixed in with the regular coveralls. A reply was given of only blue coveralls are allowed for asbestos. Any white coveralls that have "asbestos" stenciled on them should be changed. Cases were brought up where vacuum trucks are hooking up to tanks without Operations being present. Additional information needs to be furnished on any details of where and when this happened. Sc ;^6J LAM013559 2 Asbestos was pulled off pipe without being picked up on December 15 on the evening shift. Feedback of the details of this to the area supervision was made to try and correct this from occurring again. The next HSC meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 1985.
