This need is furthered by increasing product liability concerns and Vista's rapidly increasing activities in development and sales of truly new products. It is not the intent of any procedure developed to delay the development or marketing of new products. Assuring adequate consideration of applicable regulations and product liability issues can only protect and further Vista's interests. The purpose of the meeting on October 21 is to provide an overview of the issues, present the principal elements necessary for Vista's program, and seek commitment for your respective areas of responsibility to help develop and implement the system. Grumbles September 25, 1987 PROGRESS REPORT FOR THE WEEK ENDING September 25, 1987 1. A meeting was held with plant environmental coordinators to discuss the requirements under SARA Title III Section 313 Annual Toxic Chemical Emissions Reporting, Plant personnel will be working to determine which method of calculating emissions is best for each plant. Houston will be working with Purchasing to get assistance in determining Section 313 information for purchased products. 2. Updated state and federal environmental regulations for the plants. 3. A meeting was held with Conoco and IT, our groundwater project contractor, to review a draft of the Phase III date and extent assessment report, and generally update all concerned on other project activities. The project continues to require significant manhours for VCM plant personnel. 4. Discussions were held with EPA staff regarding our VMC-100 pesticide registration and TSCA inventory corrections for specialty alkylates. 5. Received presentations from CLER candidate communications contractors. Final selection will be made in two weeks. 6. The Compression Polymers joint venture site was visited.
