At the time that Jensen in Sweden first published his assert ions about the presence of Aroclor in wild life we met with him and discussed his work. As a result of these discussions he admitted that possibly some of his conclus ions regarding the hazards associated with the chlorinated biphenyl that he had found were publicized out of proport ion. I don't think at that time we questioned that he had in actual fact found chlorinated biphenyl in the sea eagles' livers but questioned his incorrect quotation of certain medical information. Since he had appreciated this point we then let the matter rest, not wanting to stir up further agitation in other countries. There has been little more happening in Europe until about a month ago, when an article appeared in a Danish newspaper disauss- ing Jensen's work. We are trying to find out at the present time Whether this covers new work or whether it is merely a re-hash of his original paper.
