MINUTES OF MEETING Date: October 15, 1982 Time: 9:00 A. M. Location: McGraw Field Office Those in Attendance Rod Adkins - Armco Bill Freeze Robert Hartley - B. A. Local #79 Ted Craft Linvel Estep D. L. Langhorne Bill Freeze stated that Linvel Estep would be taking over Insulation and would coordinate with Rod Adkins, Armco, and Ted Craft of the Insulators. Coffee breaks are given to increase production and will not be abused. Men will not be permitted to travel long distances to Trailers for coffee. Absenteeism was discussed and those who are missing excessive amounts of work will be warned and if the practice continues will be discharged. Bob Hartley, the Business Agent, agrees with the solution to this problem. Rod Adkins asked if we could put on another 25 men - if required. Bob Hartley said he could furnish the men and Adkins stated when they get out of town men they leave at noon on Friday, etc., and he preferred local men. Bob Hartley said he would get men. Bill Freeze said they would get more supervision to tighten up on absenteeism and abuse of coffee breaks. Bob Hartley said his men were upset because Armco was using other men to remove insulation other than McGraw. D. L. Langhorne explained that we have no right to interfere with Armco's other Contractors and that what they do does not concern our people. We will perform the work assigned to us by Armco. He also advised that Armco had over 1,000 men on layoff, that they are tightening their belts and it is up to our people to do the best job possible if we expect to continue to get work from Armco.
