Jaok*on 3lvd., Chicago 4, Illinois* Dear Dr* Holmblad t I have oanvaased our Hxeoutive Committee to determine their reaction to your recent letter regarding the 1945 convention. I have filled in the ans wer* to the questions on the attached sheet as indicated by the majority of opi nion of our Executive Committee. It is the consensu* of the Executive Comittee that none of the ^sanitations involved in this convention are sufficiently familiar with the broad requirements for travel reduction to determine whether this meeting should justifiably be held. It is our opinion that we should ask the proper Government agency for an opinion ae to whether the meeting should be held or whether it should be canoeled The plain faots regarding the present status of the meeting should be preslented, along with an estimate of the attendance and type of person who would attend. By presenting the facts and asking for a decision as to whether this meeting should be held, we oan obtain a definite ruling and avoid any further discussion or argvsnent from any of the groups involved in the meeting. TUth regard to your fourth question, we do not feel that holding of special regional meetings would be of particular benefit to the American Indus trial Hygiene Association sinoe we already have seven active local section, and the regular meetings held by these local sections would eliminate the need for any other regionaljmeetings. fro will be anxious to know what reaction you have obtained from your letter and any decisions which may be made regarding the annual meeting for 1945. Very truly yours, BCBty S' . C. Barnes. Secretary. CCt Bxeoutive Committee, American Industrial Hygiene Association*
