Lear Charlie t I have other letters of yours to he answered and I shall get to them shortly. I have been so swamped of late that it has' been impossible to attend to current correspondence. However, I have just received bills from The Williams and Wilkins Company to cover the subscriptions of Lr. Cruz Coke and Dr. Schiaffino to the Journal of Industrial Hygiene and Toxicology. These subscriptions were authorized at the expense of Associated Ethyl some two or three years ago, but I am not certain that you wish to have them continued indefinitely. It is not a large item of expense, and in order that there might not be a lapse that would result in a loss of certain copies, I have continued the subscriptions for another year, and will handle the account in the usual fashion through the Hew York office. At your convenience I should be glad to have your recommen dation on whether these should be continued, beyond the - current year. I was very glad to have your account of the meeting at Aruba on the subject of tank cleaning. We have collected a consi derable mass of data in connection with tank cleaning activities on tanker vessels, barges, and the like, but it has not been put together as yet and perhaps will not be for a while longer. Present indications are that no special hazards have come to light as the consequence of these ob servations, but I shall acquaint you with the situation in a more satisfactory manner a little later. Meanwhile I am glad of the position that was taken at Lago, since it seems to be a very intelligent and satisfactory one. Your letter enclosing certain reports from Dr. Bortone was not answered earlier,largely because I did not consider that the situation justified any haste on my part.
