Senator Javits promised to press ior,passage: of legislation that he and Senator Harrison A. The Mbunt Sinai research program is partly financed by a Federal program supervised by the committee, of which Senator Javits is a member.

Ramsey Clark, the Democrat ic candidate for Senator Javits's scat, also reviewed the
didate for Governor.
"This is a people's year," Mr. Clark declared,. during which
"the people" had a chance to reverse the "gnawing corrup tion in government" and' the growing economic crisis by electing Democrats.
Poll Pleases 2 Candidates
Senator Javits and Mr, Clark both said they were pleased by the results of a state poll com missioned by Newsday,' show ing Senator Javits the choice of 39 per cent of those polled, with 32 per cent for Mr. Clark, 9 per cent for Barbara Keating, the Conservative candidate, and 20 per cent undecided.
Mr. Clark said that "39 per cent for an Incumbent is no vote of confidence and 20 per cent undecided raises real prob lems for him--it's a real con test."
