1. This narrative covers the analysis of the samples in the above Job ft for TOC by the Lloyd
Kahn Method.
The samples were analyzed for TOC in duplicate by furnace combustion and nondispersive infrared detection on a Dohrmann Phoenix 8000 TOC analyzer, after acidification to remove inorganic carbon, and drying. No correction was made, therefore, for moisture content. The average o f the sample burns is reported.
2. The method-recommended holding time o f 2 weeks was met. Refer to the Laboratory Chronicle Page for dates o f sampling, receipt, and analysis.
3. The TOC calibration curve and the initial and continuing verification standards and blanks met acceptance criteria.
4. The method blanks were less than the reporting limit.
5. The LCSs were within acceptance limits, although the RPD between the LCS and LCD in batch 137251 was high, at 33,
6. Duplicate matrix spikes were done on sample 2.32676-8. The MS recovery was within acceptance limits, at 100%, but the MSD was high, at 147% recovery. The RPD between the MS and MSD was high, at 38. Please see the Quality Control Results pages for additional detail,
7. On the first attempt for sample 232676-3, the analyst failed to insert the sample boat into the furnace within the allotted time window, and the result, an erroneous non-detect, was not reported. The same thing happened at the second burn attempt for sample 232676-5, but that burn was cancelled.
