DESCRIPTION OF MATERIAL:
Clear liquid - methanol odor in material made with alcohol (methanol and/or methyl alcohol), no odor with water-soluble material. Also as dry white powder.
HEALTH CONCERNS:
Headache, drowsiness, toxic, may cause blindness.
FIRST AID TREATMENT:
Skin - wash with soap and water.
Eyes - flush with water at least 15 minutes.
Ingestion - get medical aid.
Inhalation - remove to fresh air.
SPECIAL HANDLING:
Keep away from fire, sparks, and heating sources. Use with adequate ventilation. Avoid electrostatic charges (ground equipment).
Disposal: Flush with large quantity of water and send to drain for normal sewerage.
SAFETY EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:
Approved canister or plant breathing air for high vapor concentrations (over 200 ppm). Impervious gloves. Goggles. Dust mask.
FIRE FISHTING EQUIPMENT:
Water spray, foam, CO2, dry chemical. On small fires use dry chemical or CO2. On large fires use water spray or foam. Containers may explode in a fire.
