As you know, I was out of town for a couple of weeks, and just prior to that Hudson Kellogg was away, so until recently we have not been able to discuss the situation. It appears that the setter of nixing Vitol i something with which the Detroit Research Laboratories should, keep in pretty close touch because of the close relationship ritb the Thompson Company, and because of the constant study being given the subject by various member of the Detroit staff. The number of samples is small and should remain so in the predictable future. For these reasons, it seems beet to continue to have these occasional samples shipped to your laboratory for analysis rather than transfer the activity back to the Gasoline Testing Division. By ueens of a copy of this letter, I am informing Han Greenup in Chicago of our feeling in this connection and assume that he rill issue instructions to his men in the field to continue send ing Vitol samples to you.
