The principal subsidiary, Utah-Delaware Vising Company, was consolidated on Karoh 14th 1937 with Utah Apex killing Company to form Rational Tunnel i Vines Company and ceased to be subsidiary on that date. Investment in National Tunnel 4. Vines Company In this report Is at the e&ount shown on the books of International Smelting and Refining Company which differs from that shoes in the report on Anaoonda Copper Mining Company and oonaolld&ted subsidiaries, In that the Investment ur.d Con solidated Surplus have there been reduoed by #136,307.60, the amount of the deficit of Utah-Oeleware Mining Company on dissolution. Three of the remaining subsidiaries, New Jersey Storage and ..'arehouae Com pany, Raritan Copper *orks, and Raritan Terminal and Transportation Company, are not operating, and the operations of the fourth subsidiary. International Building Associa tion, arc not an integral part of the operations of the parent company. The invest ment, including net advances, of International Smelting and Refining Company in its holly owned subsidiaries amounted to #136,363.04 at December 21st 1930 and ooa&ined net loss of such companies amounted to #3,340.21 for the year 1936 (details page 19). Investment, ineluding concurrent advances, in subsidiaries not wholly owned by the company amounted at Deoember 31st 1936 to #3,301,422.03. The equity of the Company In the combined net losses of these oompanlee amounted to 35,346.13 for the Tsar 1936 (details page 17). for the year 1936 International Smelting and Refining Company operated at a bet loss of #909,994.57, eompared with a lose of #1,301,021.36 for the year 1937. The loss of 1937, therefore, conelsts of this amount plus 1753,969.07 operat ing expenses, in 1936, on a smaller volume, the total loss for the department amounted to $13,194.65 which is more nearly representative of normal conditions.
