Since that time, certain producers of Askarel transformers have asked that Monsanto take the lead in developing mechanisms for the disposal of contami nated Askarel fluid from manufacturing locations, service shops, and customers. We have done this and have now formulated the following program which we offer to you and your customers to allow for proper disposal of polychlorinated biphenyls: 1. (Name of Company) can tell their customers to ship scrap Askarel, at their expense, to Monsanto's W, G, Krummrlch Plant at Sauget, Illinois, Attention: Supervisor, Department 246. Monsanto will charge three cents* for each pound of scrap Askarel returned. 2. Monsanto will hold the material in drums or in a storage tank pending installation of an incinerator. *The three-cent-a-pound charge is tentative and subject to change upon development of incineration cost data.
