Several suggestions were made at this and pre vious meetings. 1) The purpose of locking Electrical wooden ladders. Electricians are required to work "hot" or potentially "hot" circuits from the wooden ladders. The ladders are treated with shellac and varnish. Problems occur when the ladders are left in Inclement weather, inundated with conducting chemicals and misuse of other craftsmen. Because of the special ser vices, most ladders are locked up, and hesitancy on the part of some Electricians to loan them out. 2) Frcm Electrician B. Huber: Paint the top (2)two rungs of the ladders in the plant "RED" and stencil "DO NOT STAND". 3) From Pipefitter Gripp: Investigate and secure permission to purchase special tubular scaffold for walk-in-hood in Re search. Because of limited spare, conventional scaffold ing is not possible. It will prevent craftsmen frcm standing on instruments and tubing containing hazardous gases. 4) From Boilermaker Uptmor: For Plant Security to provide lam inated instructions for all vehicles entering the plant on rules, regulations, and what to do should an emergency occur, a) unescorted visitors - walking should understand barricade and parking restrictions 5) To purchase barricade tape with specific stenciled identifying information would be a tremendous help to new employees as well as visitors, such as "DO NOT ENTER". 6) Sign conveniently placed will remove the uncertainty shared by the contract personnel when the flashing yellow lights ccme on Indicating the train is switching. sc 000461 LAM001659 7) Pipefitter, McLaren conducted a safety meeting on fire extin guishers. The "HaIon" Extinguisher is used around Research's computer and electronic equipment. More Importantly, the areas are contained and the Halon system which supports life does not displace oxygen as the CO extinguishers.
